Visit our Travel Info page for more details.  Once in Seward, it's most convienient to have a vehicle with you.  Below are the driving directions to our cabins; the confirmation letter we send you will include these same directions. Be sure to give yourself time to experience some heavenly relaxation in these very special cabins just south of Seward, Alaska, on the shores of Resurrection Bay, on the Kenai Peninsula, with spectacular wildlife and scenery surrounding them.

Directions to the Cabins:
  • If you are driving to Seward from Anchorage, you'll leave Anchorage via the Seward Highway.
    • The Seward Highway is among the most beautiful highways in all of America. Take your time and enjoy the scenery.
    • Be on the look out for moose!
    • South of Anchorage be sure to check out Beluga Point and the hillsides for Dall sheep.
    • Please be sure to observe all speed limits, especially those through the little town of Moose Pass, about 30 miles north of Seward.
  • About 45 miles north of Seward, Route 1 turns east towards Homer and the Seward Highway becomes Route 9 and continues south.
    • If you are coming from Homer, you'll turn south here, at the wye.
  • Once you arrive in Seward, continue on the highway to the very end, or Mile 0, as we say. You'll be facing the back of the Alaska SeaLife Center.
  • Turn right onto Railway Avenue.
  • After you pass the large waterfall on the right, Railway Avenue becomes Lowell Point Road.
    • Continue on Lowell Point Road about two miles.
    • Please observe the 25 MPH speed limit and park only on the mountain side if you decide to stop.
    • There will be plenty of wildlife viewing along this road, including sea otters, sea lions, humpback whales, eagles and numerous sea birds.
  • As you approach Lowell Point, the road will move inland, and you'll cross a new two lane bridge
  • After crossing the bridge, there will be a bend or two in the road, and the road will curve sharply to the left;  you will now be on Border Avenue.
    • You will be able to see the bay again, far in front of you at the end of this road.
  • To locate the waterfront cabins and Heron's Roost, continue on Border Avenue to the water; you'll be facing Miller's Landing at Beach Drive.
  • Turn left onto Beach Drive, and drive through the waterfront campground. After you exit the campground, you'll pass 2 Dead End signs.  Look on your right for the sign for Angels Rest. The Wing, Gatehouse and Cloud 9 cabins are the first you'll come to on the water side, their parking spaces are marked.
  • On the left, acoss from the waterfront cabins and the Angels Rest sign, you'll see the Heron's Roost sign. Turn left into the driveway just past the Heron's Roost sign, and drive to the back of building.  Please be sure to park in the proper spot for your unit.  Each room has a welcome board by door, please be sure to find your name!
  • To locate our Office and Gift Shop, return to Border Ave. (as to leave) and turn on first road to the left, Shady Lane (look for the street sign on the tree).
    • Proceed down Shady Lane, about 500 feet. You'll see 14070 Shady Lane on tree on left side; park to the right of the stairs. You'll see Office sign.
