Of all our experiences over a New Year's Eve, this was the most heavenly! Thank you so much for sharing your "little slice" with us. It doesn't get much better than this. As we move into a new year and life becomes busy and challenging, we'll think back to these oments spent at the angel's rest and remember how sublime life can be. Thanks for these memories!

Thank you both so much! This place is so beautiful! All the wildlife we saw and the activities in Seward (Polar Bear Jump) made for a great two year anniversary. We saw so many otters and a friendly dog who loved to play fetch. Waking up every morning and seeing the bay started every day off right. We love it so much here and we'll defintely be back soon! Thanks so much for all of your help in booking our tour & rescheduling our time because of our flight delay. I'm so glad we made it. The storm was great, the day we came on the polar bear jump the snow was wonderful. Although the Glacier tour didn't make it very far out; boy was it a rocky & rolly trip; pretty exciting! We did see some otters & seals; I'm glad we got to go out. Been enjoying looking out the viewing windows. An eagle just flew by and I spotted some otters out front quite close. Quite enjoyable stay. I don't want to leave! As I sit here writing I'm joined with a multitude of seea gulsl s and ducks having an early morning feast as the tide rolls out. From the moment we opened the door, we've felt completely at home. My southern grandmother taught me to always make guests in your home comfortable ... books to read, your best linens, big fluffy towels, good lighting. All the comforts of home. You must have been raised the same way. The views are spectacular! The cabin is a dream. The setting is ideal. However, your attention to detail, willingness to help with tickets, etc. or leave us completely alone makes this a truly unique experience. We have had such a peaceful relaxing time. From the steaks on the grill, a whale watching tour, walks with the resident dogs and long periods of gazing out the windows, it has all been perfect. Thank you so much for your graciousness, hospitality and this beautiful cabin. No 5 star hotel could compare! Soldotna, Alaska

Dear folks, Thank you for being so imaginative in your careers as innkeepers. We enjoyed the Gatehouse cottage and the wonderful view. Hadn't been seated at the windows for more than a few minutes when a bald eagle came in off the water and would have been inside had he not swooped away at the last moment. Wish we had longer. This is truly a cabin away from home! And what a view! Such luxury to lie in bed looking out over the water across the mountains! And not to mention the plentitude of birds: hummingbirds, white-winged cross-bill, bald eagles, and several not yet identified species (we still have to look them up in our bird guide). Thank you for this most wonderful cabin. Your fine touches, shingle mural on the back of the cabin, and the ornate window casings, flannel sheets and even binoculars, made for an enchanted visit. We spent two days watching the tides waiting for the mist to rise and create yet another inspiring scene, & listening for the cry of the pair of nesting eagles as they warned of their descent into the bay for fishing. A sea otter entertained us endlessly it its antics. This was a lovely respite in our 2 weeks in Alaska. It is impossible to consider that we won't return. Gratefully yours, Rochester, New York

It's so good to be back. It's only been since September, but iy seems so/too long. I've been coming down here to Angels Rest for 7 years now, at least 10 times a year. It's my favorite Alaska escape. I never tire of the views and they are photographs in my mind when I'm not here. Anchorage, Alaska

We truly enjoyed our stay. Saw 2 sea otters playing out front our first night & lots of golden eyes & harliquin ducks. The night of the 20th just as we were getting ready for bed, we were fortunate enough to spot a pod of killer whales cruising the center of the bay. We got a better look at them from bed than we did on the boat tour the same day. Amazing. Truly a memorable experience. The cabin is perfect and we enjoyed our time here emmensley. Thanks! The Gatehouse provided us with an exquisitely peaceful & restful evening rocking on the porch and listening to the water lapping on the shore below with the mountains rising in the background. We're sorry that we weren't able to spend more time there. Kudos to the designer, craftsman, for woodworking details in shower, ceiling, doors & windows. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We moved to Anchorage a couple of months ago & this was our first trip down to Seward. We loved it & the cabin is magical. This morning we watched golden eyes & harlequin ducks & the fog roll in over the mountains. We enjoyed listening to the waves last night too. Have a great winter season. The moon, almost full, rose over the mountains on Thanksgiving day. Moonlight flooded the Gatehouse cabin, surfaces glowing. Microwave turkey, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, wine, and pumpkin pie. Dinner for two with a view. In the morning the eastern sky blazes orange and pink. Harlequin ducks glide on the shimmering ripples of Resurrection Bay. We leave with so many wonderful memories! You all are excellent hosts! I have thoroughly enjoyed my life with you in your beautifully made cabin! You built it especially for the handicapped and you did a supurb job! All of your attention to details and comfort are so appreciated! I love how you angled the ceilings to obtain greater comfort from the heater. This cabin is great! What a spectacular view! We have enjoyed our 3 days in Seward. The Glacier cruise was a great trip & Exit Glacier was beautiful. If we ever make it back to Seward we definitely will stay at Angels Rest. again. I love the names of the cabins also. They go perfectly with Resurrection Bay. Dunedin, Florida

We are impressed with your attention to detail in ensuring that everything you need is available plus all the extras.... Alaska videos; gas grill; binoculars; well supplied kitchen, etc. We grilled fresh fish one night and cooked fresh vegetables while enjoying the great weather and beautiful view. The bed was so comfortable & the towels were thick and absorbent. This experience was the Alaska experience we had imagined but had yet to find. Thank you for exceeding our expectations! We were lucky enough to stay in two of the Angels Rest cabins (Hobbit Loft & Gatehouse) - both were simply adorable! We will definitely recommend them to everyone we know - and hope to be back ourselves someday. This was the perfect place to spend our 2nd anniversary. I don't think there is a cozier bed anywhere we've been, and there definitely isn't a better view. Our stay in Seward was wonderful, capped off with the most fabulous hike to the Harding Ice field! Your cabin has a beautiful setting inside & out. We were so comfortable here. The weather was sunny and warm! We saw lots of birds, salmon, otters, & seals from the font porch. The Ranting Raven on 4th Ave. was our favorite for coffee & coffee cake. The hike to Tonsina Point was beautiful as well. Kayaking to Thumbs Cove, tour of the bay & Aialik glacier was great. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Seward and in the Gatehouse cabin. Angels Rest is among one of the best places we have ever stayed on vacation. The interior of the cabin was beautifully decorated. We also enjoyed the time we spent sitting on the porch watching the seals, eagles, and other wildlife. We spent our days here hiking Harding Icefield trail, cruising the Fjords NP and kayaking in Prince William Sound, but one of our favorite parts was coming home to the Gatehouse. WOW! That was my first thought! The first day here there was an eagle sitting on the rocks out front, how exciting! The view, well there are no words to describe it! Breathtaking ~ the second day I walked & just met people along the way. People from all over the States. Very friendly. took the time to explain things I didn't understand, like fishing. Boy, are there some big fish up here. Tomorrow we are on our way to Homer, but I can't imagine anything being this nice. This is a place worth remembering. :-) Thornton, New Hampshire
