Many people wonder how close the nearest other home or building is to our cabins. The lots on Lowell Point are generally 100 feet wide, and most have something on them, particularly in the summertime. There are 2 b&bs just north of us and another across Beach Drive to the south, and there are other summer homes nearby. This will not impact your stay! Once you are at the cabins, you'll discover a world unlike any you've ever experienced. The views from the waterfront cabins are unparalleled and you will be transported. Each cabin is placed in such a way as to provide the feeling of remoteness. The Hobbit Loft Cabin, in the woods nearby will also transport you with it's charm and quiet. One note worth mentioning: As you travel in Alaska, please remember, this remains the "last frontier" ... only in cities will you find any zoning or regulations. Lowell Point is not within the city limits, therefore there are no zoning restrictions. Additionally, Alaskans are reticent to throw anything away; we may need it later, and this is a part of the world where supplies can be scarce, extremely hard to come by, and expensive. As the saying goes: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." This can result in quite an "eclectic" neighborhood! It's definitely a unique place, and we can assure you, you'll be glad you visited! |
