Heavenly Lodging in Seward Alaska

Fishing Seward Alaska Salmon Halibut

There are a variety of fishing options for salt water fishing in Seward Alaska; for the most part by boat, but at some times of the year you can fish from shore. For about 3 weeks in July you can catch all 5 species of Salmon from the beach right in front of our waterfront cabins! We have fishing poles & tackle boxes for our guests to use.  Halibut fishing is generally from mid-April to mid-Sept by boat.  Full day salmon and combo (salmon & halibut) charters are generally from June to mid-Sept. Below are some recommendations. Seward's 55th Silver Salmon Derby will run from August 14 through August 21, 2010. For all fishing, you will need to purchase a fishing license and appropriate tags (if applicable). Be sure to give yourself time to experience some heavenly relaxation in our very special and beautiful cabins with spectacular wildlife and scenery surrounding them, just south of Seward, Alaska, on the shores of Resurrection Bay, on the Kenai Peninsula,.
  •  Selecting the best fishing charter for your desires can often be a challenge, as we have learned over the years. There are a number of factors to take into consideration, and you should prior to making any reservation.
    • What size boat and how many people do you want to fish with? 6, 12, 24?
    • How many people can the boat seat inside, and how many people will be on the boat? On bad weather days this can become the most important issue.
    • Does the boat have a private indoor head (bathroom); if not what are the facilities?
    • What is the policy if you are unable to fish for the species you selected?
    • What is the policy if the charter is canceled or cut short due to weather?
    • How experienced and familiar are the Captain & crew in these waters ?
  • Over the years our local insight, the answers to the above questions, and customer feedback leads us to the vendor recommendations below.

We're happy to help you decide, and make your reservation for you!

There are so many things to do in Seward, Alaska and the surrounding area, from simple wildlife watching and hiking to boat tours into the Kenai Fjords National Park to see glaciers and wildlife, that we encourage you to stay at least 3 nights so that you can take advantage of the numerous activities that make Seward such a special place to visit.  The mountains surrounding Resurrection Bay provide spectacular scenery and they are alive with wildlife, as is the bay itself.  The wildlife of the area includes bald eagles, bear (both black and brown), mountain goats, dall sheep, sea lions, dall porpoise, harbor seal, sea otters, humpback whales, sea birds & ducks too numerous to list! Seward itself is a charming town with two distinct areas of enjoyment.  Downtown Seward offers a number of special businesses.  The Seward Small Boat Harbor is a delightful place to walk around on a nice day (with an ice cream cone from the Harbor Creamery, if you like!), and the Alaska SeaLife Center and Seward Museum, or any of several coffee shops, are perfect places to spend a rainy afternoon. Since all of our waterfront lodging accommodations (cabins, view rooms) have kitchenettes, you won't have to eat all your meals out, but when you want to, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Seward Alaska.
