Heavenly Lodging in Seward Alaska

View Nest Room Seward Alaska

The View Nest Room of our Herons Roost 4-Unit Cabin  is a 1st floor room, located across Beach Drive from our waterfront cabins on Lowell Point, just south of Seward, Alaska.  This cabin-like room has a spectacular view of Resurrection Bay, even though it is a 1st floor room.  Completely modern with our same touches of comfort.  This is a rather large room with a full bathroom including tub. This room is large enough to have a cot added for parents traveling with a small child, and also feature a kitchenette. With peaceful surroundings, a bit "off the beaten path" and the ocean just outside your window, be sure to leave enough time to enjoy this special spot! There is also a nice wooded garden area with picnic table, fire pit, and propane BBQ.  You'll find everything you need for a perfect stay!

These "cabin-like" rooms are similar to our individual waterfront cabins, surrounded inside with wood.

Each room (including the Heron Loft in 2010) has 2 comfortable rocker glider chairs for sitting and looking out the windows, or reading; each queen bed is positioned for a fabulous view looking out the windows (except Wood Nest, where the sitting room has the view of the bay). All rooms also have cooking capability with a microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee pot and BBQ  grill outside. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is included (sheets, dishes, utensils etc.) 2-burner stove tops  and a set of pans are also available.

Above is the Herons Roost building as seen from Beach Drive, and as you drive into our property.  Entrances to the rooms are on the west side of the building, as seen in the photo below. Herons Roost Guest Room entrances

Paul finished shingling the Heron design this spring, another of is special Silhouette Shingles.  The slight variance in color you see are the new shingles in the above photo will blend in with time.

There are so many things to do in Seward, Alaska and the surrounding area, from simple wildlife watching and hiking to boat tours into the Kenai Fjords National Park to see glaciers and wildlife, that we encourage you to stay at least 3 nights so that you can take advantage of the numerous activities that make Seward such a special place to visit.  The mountains surrounding Resurrection Bay provide spectacular scenery and they are alive with wildlife, as is the bay itself.  The wildlife of the area includes bald eagles, bear (both black and brown), mountain goats, dall sheep, sea lions, dall porpoise, harbor seal, sea otters, humpback whales, sea birds & ducks too numerous to list! Seward itself is a charming town with two distinct areas of enjoyment.  Downtown Seward offers a number of special businesses.  The Seward Small Boat Harbor is a delightful place to walk around on a nice day (with an ice cream cone from the Harbor Creamery, if you like!), and the Alaska SeaLife Center and Seward Museum, or any of several coffee shops, are perfect places to spend a rainy afternoon. Since all of our waterfront lodging accommodations (cabins, view rooms) have kitchenettes, you won't have to eat all your meals out, but when you want to, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Seward Alaska.
