Beautiful Comfortable Lodging in Seward Alaska

Heavenly Lodging in Seward Alaska

Wing Cabin Guest Book Seward Alaska

Guests have filled over 4 guests books in our Wing Cabin; far too many comments to list here!  Since visitors tell us they enjoy reading what others have written, below you will find quotations from these books, arranged by season and month. We used to be open year round so there are also entries for October thru February.  This beautiful waterfront cabin lodging on the shores of Resurrection Bay just south of Seward Alaska will charm you with its intimate relationship with the marine wildlife and surrounding scenery. The Wing Cabin has had weddings performed on the porch, and numerous honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays celebrated here. We hope these quotes below will help you get a feel for how special our accommodations are, and encourage you to consider our small ma & pa offering instead of a traditional Seward hotel or motel, or traditional bed and breakfast. We care about your stay and will do what we can to make sure you are comfortable!

Thank you! Although a very short stay, we came to witness the "Polar Bear Jump." It was wonderful! You have a very cozy and comfortable place here. We'll be back!
Anchorage, Alaska

Arrived in a snowy white out, unable to see anything. Awoke with a slate blue sky behind chiseled mountains and a cobalt-colored bay - otters, birds, mist coming off the water, and finally, a dazzling triumphant sunrise!  To call this spectacular is to understate and trivialize it.  Words themselves are poor substitutes. YoYo Ma playing Bach, coffee, a vow to return...Berkeley, California

View to the south in winter from the waterfront cabins Angels Rest on Resurrection Bay

The weather was wonderful & we actually felt the warmth of the sun! We saw a seal in the bay and an eagle dining on what appeared to be a sea gull yesterday. Once again we had a great time. Palmer, Alaska

Happy New Year! Chilly morning but high clouds make for great views across the bay. Thanks for a wonderful New Year's! Anchorage, Alaska

What a wonderful get-away this was! Many thanks for the absolute perfection of this place! Anchorage, Alaska

April
We wish we never had to leave, but we're taking with us some wonderful memories and we long for the time when Angels Rest will beckon us back.  We hope all who stay here will hear the Angels whisper and know how lucky they are to be here! Thank you! Salem, Oregon

We've really enjoyed our stay in your comfortable cottage with its wonderful view. It's delightful to spend meal & leisure time watching the mountains & birds. Thank you! Canberra, Australia

Had a wonderful time!! We saw several sea lions - even got close enough for them to "bark" at us! This is a beautiful place and we would love to visit again soon! Nashville, Tennessee

We started out as Hobbits, now we have our Wings! We hope to get to Heaven's Gate before next spring! o now we must get flying, not to be too late, cuz I'm sure there're others waiting to get to heaven's gates! You are an angel! Thanks again! Anchorage, Alaska

After one night here we are rejuvenated! Thank you for the perfect way to end our Alaskan experience! New York, New York

 July
What an oasis of comfort & beauty!  We loved the incredible wildflowers, awesome view, amazing hikes (we recommend the Harding Icefield hike-strenuous but worth every step-take lots of snacks - and also the hike from Lowell Pt. to Tonsina Pt.), charming ambiance of your cabin. Thanks for creating this tiny piece of heaven to share - how appropriate for us to glimpse the beauty of the "Resurrection" from "Angels Rest." We are grateful for sun and pleasant temperatures our entire stay: It's hard to say "goodbye!" Cary, North Carolina

Had a wonderful stay. Enjoyed the spectacular scenery and peaceful ambiance. Loved this place! Talkeetna, Alaska & Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Incredible view! Quiet & relaxing. A gorgeous ending to our trip to Alaska. Thanks. Kalamazoo, Michigan

Simply incredible view! The cozy atmosphere let us feel right at home. What a discovery this was fur us; we must visit again! Simply stress free! Thank you.

October
Thank you so much for providing such a welcoming and cozy place to stay for my first trip to Seward. The wind raged all night long but I was toasty and comfortable between these walls under flannel sheets! This is a gem, glad I found you - an inspiring sanctuary to return to.
Juneau, Alaska

Just sitting in a chair looking out at the bay or reading a book in silence....all this allowed me the quiet moments I needed at this time. A beautiful place and a beautiful cabin. Thank you for staying open year round and giving people a chance to experience Seward (&Alaska) in such a wonderful way.

One of the nicest cabins - and settings we've ever stayed in! We wish we could have remained a week or more. Sighted sea otters, Dall porpoise, sea lions, harbor seals, and mountain goats. Looking forward to a return visit! Seattle, Washington

February
Although the sun didn't show us his face, mother nature had her arms around us for our short stay at Angels Rest. Since this was a business trip we can't stay longer but we feel honored to have spent our 4 month wedding anniversary at this beautiful place! Juneau, Alaska

After a dark rainy drive, we relaxed into the sound of the water and beauty of Resurrection Bay! We enjoyed sunrises, and snowy mountains and are now refreshed. This has been a special 4 year anniversary blessed by the quiet friendliness of the Wing Cabin. Thank you and best wishes! Anchorage, Alaska

May
The Wing Cabin is a special place that will stay in our minds & hearts for a lifetime. We greatly enjoyed the spectacular view, a beautiful bald eagle outside our door, and the enjoyment of sea otters gathering and eating their food. We hope to visit again in the winter--can't even imagine how beautiful this place must be in the snow! Washington, D.C.

I'm trying to figure out how to telecommute from Alaska so I can stay here forever. I don't think my boss will go for it. :-) We loved it here. The view from the cabin made it very hard to go out and do anything else! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous for the past few days. We took the day long Major Marine Tour and spotted orcas, sea otters, humpback whales, puffins and kittiwakes on our first full day here. Amazing. Thank you Lynda & Paul. We hope to come back some day soon. San Jose, California

August
We'll return to Chicago with photos and memories of the awesome view from this cottage. Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to live on the edge of Resurrection Bay for the past few days. It has been unique and inspiring to wake up and fall asleep to the dramatic moods of the clouds and mountains as well as the sounds of the birds and sea. Your pride in your cabin is well founded--you've thought of every detail--from warm sheets & blankets to trail maps and guide book, videos and games. Thanks again. Highland Park, Illinois

Sadly, our time at this beautiful waterfront cabin has come to an end. One of your special treats, a pair of bald eagles inviting us to dinner. They allowed us to watch their feast of salmon right on our own beach front. Otters floating by and salmon jumping along with the red tipped mountains at sunset. What more could one want? Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Upstate, New York

We need a new adjective to describe the beauty of Angels Rest & the pleasure we have had in Seward. "Our" sea otters out front made it difficult to leave the Wing cabin to enjoy the area's wildlife...but we did. Thank you for sharing your corner of the world and your cabin with us. God willing, we will find ourselves at your doorstep again. Thanks again! Sturgis, Michigan

November
I was definitely not expecting such a nice, cute, quaint & elegant little hideaway. We have had a great time and will surely be back. Thanks so much for the hospitality. Olympia, Washington & Ketchikan, Alaska

This has been one of the most wonderful trips my wife and I have ever been on. The beauty of the land is breathtaking. Thanks for the stay in this wonderful spot. Warwick, Rhode Island

My mom, up from Florida, & I spent a couple of wonderful days here. Saw bald eagles, otters, great blue herons & lots of seabirds. The peace & quiet has been great. Thank you Lynda, for being so helpful and welcoming. Happy Thanksgiving. Anchorage, Alaska & Florida

March
Gorgeous, gorgeous weather - clear, warm (36), blue sky, seal ion 2 eagles, harbor seals, old squaw, cormorants, friendly neighbors. Grey whale swimming by... Whenever you come to a wonderful, beautiful and quiet place as this--away from emails, telephone calls, and television - you remember your real self and it is lost in our normally wild and hectic lives. We realize what we're missing and vow to do something about it. All too soon we're back in the same frenetic rat race leading to early aging and death. Someday soon we'll make the leap back in a more reasonable and relaxed life. Some day soon!! Lovely place, such thoughtful amenities, so clean & well-kept. Thank you, we'll be back. Anchorage, Alaska

This was our 3rd year staying at this relaxing retreat! Not a cloud in the sky, but the winds were high. We saw lots of sea lions, otters, birds (including a crane), 2 star fish. On the 20th the northern lights were out and illuminated the mountain peaks! We can't wait until our next visit! Fairbanks, Alaska

June

What a wonderful place! Harding Ice Field trail truly awesome. Saw 4 bears and some marmots. In town we saw two sea lions around the public dock. Back here at the cabin - lots of birds and an eagle, also a couple of seals poking their heads up. This is a beautiful place. So glad we had the opportunity to stay here at the Wing. Thank you--it will be in our memories for a lifetime. Andover, New Hampshire

Angels Rest, truly a bit of heave on earth. It's been a spectacular place to stay with the best view in town. It's been a trip I'll never forget. Redondo Beach, California

This was our last sop on our Alaska adventure and we saved the best for last. We've seen so much wildlife from our front window and also from our beautiful glacier cruise. What a great way to end a great vacation!
Saginaw, Michigan

Wow! Thank you so much! After admiring all the thoughtful, homey touches of your cabin, I sat on the bed and took in perhaps the most beautiful nature scene of my lifetime. Saw marine life every day from the cabin and got a much hoped for glimpse of a humpback whale on Major Marine Tours. Otters wrestling in the rain today were a total crack up. Everywhere you turn here Jehovah's creation fills your heart with awe and love and takes you breath away.  Sioux Falls, South Dakota

In this quiet beauty, we've refreshed our souls and reaffirmed our friendship. Los Angeles, California & Anchorage, Alaska

As true Alaskans destined to unite in the "wild frontier" we couldn't have chosen a better spot to get married. It's truly amazing to hear the ocean & to see the majestic mountains as we awake. We couldn't have been closer to God than by this beautiful wilderness surrounding our eternal love for each other. Anchorage, Alaska

A whale just swam by! Can't wait to come back this Jan-Feb! Anchorage, Alaska

There are so many things to do in Seward, Alaska and the surrounding area, from simple wildlife watching and hiking to boat tours into the Kenai Fjords National Park to see glaciers and wildlife, that we encourage you to stay at least 3 nights so that you can take advantage of the numerous activities that make Seward such a special place to visit.  The mountains surrounding Resurrection Bay provide spectacular scenery and they are alive with wildlife, as is the bay itself.  The wildlife of the area includes bald eagles, bear (both black and brown), mountain goats, dall sheep, sea lions, dall porpoise, harbor seal, sea otters, humpback whales, sea birds & ducks too numerous to list! Seward itself is a charming town with two distinct areas of enjoyment.  Downtown Seward offers a number of special businesses.  The Seward Small Boat Harbor is a delightful place to walk around on a nice day (with an ice cream cone from the Harbor Creamery, if you like!), and the Alaska SeaLife Center and Seward Museum, or any of several coffee shops, are perfect places to spend a rainy afternoon. Since all of our waterfront lodging accommodations (cabins, view rooms) have kitchenettes, you won't have to eat all your meals out, but when you want to, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Seward Alaska. If you've never stayed in a small "ma & pa" accommodation, or if you normally stay in a hotel or motel, or bed and breakfast, you'll want to come stay with us and experience something special! We'd love to have you as our guests; we'll do everything we can to make sure you have a comfortable stay!
